Accessibility
The standard, what was actually built and measured against it, what I know is imperfect, and how to reach a person if something does not work for you.

The standard I build to
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is the level referenced by the ADA guidance in the United States, by Section 508, and by EN 301 549 in Europe. It is the target for this site and for every site I build for a client.
What has actually been done here
Not a list of intentions — these are things that were built and then measured:
- Semantic HTML: real headings in order, real landmarks, real buttons and links rather than styled
divs. - Every interactive control reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline that is not removed.
- Text contrast measured against the colour actually rendered behind it, not calculated from a hex value in a file. Every pair on the page meets or exceeds AA.
- A designed
prefers-reduced-motionvariant. Motion is not merely switched off — the layout that remains is composed for it, and the animated cover has a static composition built to replace it. - The scrolling gallery of styles is operable with the arrow keys, Home and End, and collapses to an ordinary run of sections on short screens and under reduced motion.
- Alternative text on images that carry meaning; decorative images hidden from assistive technology rather than described.
- No audio or video that plays by itself. No content that flashes.
- A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element.
What I know is not perfect
Stating this is the point of the page. The gallery of styles is a custom scroll pager rather than a native scroll region; it has keyboard controls and a non-scrolling fallback, but it is a custom pattern and custom patterns carry more risk than standard ones. The animated cover uses WebGL, which some assistive setups and older machines will not run — a static composition is served instead, and no information exists only inside the animation.
This site has not been audited by an independent accessibility firm, and there is no VPAT. When either changes, it will be said here.
If something does not work for you
Email studio@bodkinandpress.com or call (267) 804-2702. Tell me the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened — and, if you can, the browser and assistive technology you were using. I will acknowledge within five business days and tell you what I am going to do about it and when.
If a page is unusable for you and a fix will take time, ask and I will get you the information another way in the meantime.
What this page is not
This is a statement of intent, method and current status. It is not a warranty, a certification, or a claim of full conformance.
